The Management Team
James Moody, General Partner President and Director
James Moody has been involved in the real estate industry for over 20 years. Moody has held various executive positions (Director of Marketing, Vice-President, President) of numerous companies, during this period of time. Moody has worked with numerous engineering companies and has made successful presentations on real estate projects to various levels of provincial and municipal governments. Moody has worked with over 100 builders in the greater Calgary area and he is experienced in all facets of real estate developments.
2004 – present – President of Eaglecrest Resorts International Inc., a company that has funded and is developing 154 acres in La Paz , Mexico. This beach front land is a master planned resort community which will build out to approximately 700 units. MDY Management Ltd., is also developing properties in Peurto Viaharta, MX, Mulege Bay, MX and a couple of subdivisions in and around the Calgary area.
2003 - Vice President of Land Development, Rich Minerals Corp. - responsible for developing and bringing to completion projects in Lethbridge and Kimberley; identified Sun Terraces, Sechelt as possible acquisition target.
2002 - Syndicated 615 Acres east of Chestermere to investors as a development for a Business Park. Moody is an equity partner and a member of the Management Committee of the project known as Mountain View Business Park.
2001 - Moody located 313 Acres in Medicine Hat (known as Desert Blume), currently under development for an I8-hole championship golf course and 440 mixed housing units. Moody and his associates raised the equity of $4.5 million to fund this project. 1999 - Moody was a self-employed consultant, assisting numerous companies to raise working capital for various real estate projects.
1997 - Moody was retained by Canadian Destination Properties and Mc2 Developments as an in-house consultant, providing market research and equity funding.
1995 - Moody formed Eagle Crest Developments which successfully purchased land for two projects, Waterfront Estates (40 Estate lots) and The Cove (300 lots), in the Town of Chestermere, both of which were financially successful.
1993 – 1996 – Director of Marketing for Willowbrook Estates in Airdrie, AB. This consisted of 220 single family homes with five builders.
1990 - Moody purchased 200 Acres in the Summer Village of Chestermere through a real estate joint venture partnership. Moody was retained as Director of Marketing. The joint venture arranged for the delivery of Calgary water to the Summer Village in 1990 thereby allowing for the real estate developments currently ongoing. The project was completed in 1996 with 250 homes surrounded by a championship golf course, Lakeside Greens Golf Club.
Lorne Scott, General Partner Secretary
Mr. Scott has been a partner with the law firm of Scott Hall, LLP, Barristers and Solicitors, since 1989. Mr. Scott has been a member of the Law Society of Alberta since 1968 and received his Queen?s Counsel designation in 1986. He received his Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Alberta in 1967. Mr. Scott was born on January 27, 1943.
Mr. Scott has been involved in real estate development of both a commercial and residential nature, both as legal counsel and as a developer for over 25 years. Mr. Scott is currently a Director of Desert Blume Developments Ltd., a private Alberta corporation involved in a residential real estate and golf course development in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Mr. Scott was also part of the management team involved in the development of Lakeside Greens (a residential and golf course community in Chestermere, Alberta), Willowbrook Estates, a residential real estate development in Airdrie, Alberta and from June 1996 to present a Director of Timberlea Holdings Inc, a residential real estate development company in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Mr. Scott was also from 1998 to 2002 an Alternate Governor of the Calgary Stampeder Football Club and was a Director of Grey Cup 1000 Inc.
Jeff B. Wilkie, Executive Vice President
Mr. Wilkie has been in the people business for the last 27 years and was the Founding and Managing Partner of GIC Capital Corp., a private capital matchmaking network for the last 14 years. During the past 8 years he was involved in the finance and marketing of a number of real estate transactions from a Mexican resort development to a few condo conversions and a real estate syndication on the Big Island of Hawaii. Mr. Wilkie was CEO and co-founder of IonXphere Inc. from April of 2004 until September of 2005, a company presently focused on Stored Value Card technologies. Prior to his position at IonXphere, Mr. Wilkie was the CEO of Zenith Group Inc., a rapidly expanding international VOIP telecom company with facilities in four continents.
Mr. Wilkie has been a co-founder of 2 national telecom companies of which one was Regare Corporation, which was a branded national telecom wholesaler, was a acquired by a TSX listed company and the other, Shift Networks, marketing a virtual PBX system, was trading on the TSX Venture Exchange before it was aquired. Mr. Wilkie also co-founded Genisys International and Elk Tech International Inc. The first being acquired and the second is trading on the TSX as an oil and gas exploration company.
Mr. Wilkie held numerous management roles of increasing responsibility for 14 years with Northern Telecom where he was directly involved in the establishment of their world headquarters for fibre optic manufacturing and marketing. This division grew from a founding staff of five, to 1400 employees within a six-year time frame until the division was acquired in 1995. Mr. Wilkie was also a founder of Project Touchtown, a non-profit with 850 members and has since been a volunteer leader in a well known local community.
